When a screening plant already equipped with polyurethane equipment undergoes clogging or pegging difficulties, there are synthetic solutions that could solve these problems.

The simplest solution is to move from a square mesh to a rectangular mesh. As the mesh size is larger, it would facilitate the flow of products that tend to clog or peg square meshes. Although rectangular meshes have the quality to improve the flow, they also have some shortcomings that could undermine the quality of productions.

Another solution to diminish pegging would be to reduce the hardness of the screening surface. As the polyurethane layer is soft and flexible, it will tend to deform more easily as the material passes through, and thus more easily allow the product through the mesh.

GIRON thus offers two polyurethane solutions which reduce or solve the problems of clogging or pegging during dry or underwater screening.

Polytech cloth is an evolution of polyurethane tensioned cloths. In order to solve clogging and/or pegging problems, the standard features such as the strip, the diameter of the stainless wire cable, or the thickness of material to be worn have been kept to a minimum.

Thus, the percentage of void (permeability) of the screening surface has been increased and the thickness of wear optimised to facilitate the passage of materials. The result provides a high permeability polyurethane cloth with anti-clogging and anti-pegging properties. This cloth is relatively light and flexible, allowing it to be rolled up and easily transported.

To be tensioned, these cloths are made with tension hooks. These are steel sheets bent at an angle adapted to the different screens.

To use a cloth, this must be properly tensioned. Also, it must follow a curve defined by the screen manufacturers. The thicker the cloth, the more pronounced the curve to obtain good support. To ensure better positioning of the cloth on the frame, solid areas are provided on the cloth at each transverse support.

The use of such a cloth calls for close attention during setting up, particularly for its tension. Our teams will be at your side to help you properly install its Polytech cloths.

It is also important to consider the particle size processed by Polytech.

GIRON has a wide range of meshes (W) to match the needs of its customers.

Standard range :

  • Square meshes : 2 mm ≤ W ≤ 15 mm
  • Max size : 5 m EXT x 1.5 m
  • Possible options : Overlap bibs, reinforcements on the supports, holes for central fixing, etc.

Polyflex is a polyurethane module where the screening area has been replaced by a fine membrane that is prestressed by bonding. Also known as the “drum skin”, this solution has been around a long time.

The polyurethane formulation used here is different from traditional polyurethane cloths and modules. This solution is mainly used in modular panels for screening clogging products due to its trampoline effect as materials flow through, and when permeability is given precedence over abrasion resistance.

Polyflex may possibly be supplied in the form of tensioned cloth. In this situation, GIRON recommends the Polytech cloth that will meet your expectations with much better value for money.

It is important to consider the particle size processed by the Polyflex, which will not accept very heavy loads.

  • Meshes : 6 mm ≤ W ≤ 60 mm
  • Thickness : 5 mm ≤ e ≤ 5 mm
