Investment and innovation: the Giron dynamic

Investments and innovation: Giron's dynamismAs our company is currently in very good economic health, we are taking advantage of this to invest in various projects and to innovate in the way we develop our screening fabric business. Find out more about our investments and innovation!

Purchase of a new press

We recently invested over €200,000 in a new press for the making tensioning hookswhich fit onto our screening cloths. For this investment, we also benefited from subsidies from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, whose support for the development of local and French industries we would like to thank once again.

This specific machine was tailor-made for Giron. We started with a standard model and customized it to meet the specific needs of our business. This innovation is the result of sharing expertise and experience with our suppliers. Giron's teams and those of our partners played an active role in drafting the specifications. Thanks to its greater flexibility and versatility, this machine covers our entire range of products requiring tensioning hooks. Our work is thus streamlined for ever greater efficiency!

As the last French manufacturer of screen cloths, this investment will enable our company to remain competitive and stay one step ahead of our European and foreign competitors. In the medium term, we even plan to invest in a second machine of this type.

Introduction of new industrial processes

With a view to rationalizing production, we have also implemented new industrial processes for the manufacture of our anti-clogging fabrics. As a result, we are now able to respond rapidly to customer requests and improve our repair capabilities.

Innovation and Quality of Life at Work for our employees

Naturally, the company wanted to include these developments in its approach to improving QWL (Quality of Life at Work). Our investments in terms of equipment and process evolution have been studied in the light of the latest ergonomic standards. We have therefore taken into account the working conditions of our employees, and in particular the different manipulations they have to carry out on a daily basis.

Continuous improvement at the heart of our approach

With a view to continuous improvement, we are currently working on the implementation of a new ERP system. This strategic project for Groupe Giron began over 18 months ago with our partner ABAS, and has mobilized a large number of employees. This digital transition project is known internally as SPIDERMAN 4.0. Note the play on words:

  • SPIDER, the spider that weaves its web, in reference to the weaving of our screening webs and the new digital interconnections of all our internal services.
  • MAN = the men and women who have worked hard to bring this industrial transformation to fruition
  • 4.0 = the concept of industrial revolution, with a nod to the 4e generation to take the company to 100eanniversary and towards new horizons!

The launch of this ERP is scheduled for the end of 2022. This project required an investment of over €300,000, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This IT tool will contribute to the rationalization of the company's operations to which we are committed.

cOur State Guaranteed Loan repaid in full

Further proof of our company's sound financial health: the repayment of our PGE in full! In the midst of the Covid crisis, Giron sought government support with a PGE "Prêt Garanti par l'État" (State Guaranteed Loan). This government assistance enabled our company to get through this complicated health and economic situation more serenely. Indeed, even if we didn't specifically need it at the time, the PGE represented a real security to support our business. We repaid the 1st part of this loan, i.e. 70 %, in 2021, and decided to repay the balance in May 2022. All the indicators are therefore good for our business. châtelleraud-based industrial and craft company ! And we're still in the recruitment notice to interested parties...
